| Description: | POSITION PURPOSE: To provide engaging craft and trades experiences while serving as facilitator in Conner Prairie’s experience areas.
NATURE AND SCOPE: The Craft and Trades Facilitator provides all audiences with unique engaging craft and trade experiences (pottery, blacksmithing, and woodworking). Person will serve as facilitator in Conner Prairie’s craft and trades areas, including, but not limited to 1836 Prairietown. Facilitator will also take part in implementation of all craft and trade activities and programs. This is a part-time position. Some weekend and holiday work is required.

| Duties: | PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Work in one, or more of the designated trades areas within Conner Prairie’s historic areas
•Be trained in one, or more, of the following areas: woodworking, blacksmithing, pottery
•Facilitate craft and trade experiences within Conner Prairie’s experience areas, classrooms, and trade areas
•Take part in the implementation and execution of trades and craft experiences at Conner Prairie
•Work well with adult and youth volunteers
•Adheres and supports Conner Prairie’s Mission, Values Statements and Code of Conduct
•Other duties as assigned; not limited to those within the scope of this position

| Qualifications: | QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
•Minimum of High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University preferred or related relevant experience
•Working knowledge, training, and/or relevant skills and experience to work in trades and historic craft areas
•Ability to engage a wide range of audiences in craft and trades activities, in a diverse learning environment
•Outgoing, cheerful and engaging personality
•Enjoy working with a wide range of audiences, and learning styles
•Ability to work in a team structure
•Show flexibility and creativity in support of museum activities
•Ability to synthesize responsibilities with awareness for their impact on the museum as a whole
•Self motivated with an ability to carry through independently
•Interested in challenging self to learn new skills
•Group-management skills
